US Créteil Handball success story: the handball club that made its ticketing a growth driver with Tickie

US Créteil Handball didn't want just another ticketing platform. The club was looking for a tool that would help it get to know its fans better, leverage its corporate partners and grow its revenue. After one season with Tickie, that ambition has become reality, backed by concrete results.

A success built on five levers, which we're about to walk you through.

A strong club, a high-performing ticketing operation

A historic handball club in the Paris region, US Créteil Handball (USCHB) can count on a loyal fan base and a strong network of corporate partners. That strength shows up clearly in its ticketing metrics.

  • A conversion rate above 80%, with the vast majority of visitors completing their purchase.

  • 55% loyal fans, who come back from one match to the next.

  • Around 70% of ticketing revenue generated online, a sign of an audience that has gone digital.

Behind these results, the project is led by Ludovic Kenzoua, the club's deputy director, working alongside the Tickie team.

What the club wanted to change

In early 2025, USCHB was looking for a new ticketing platform with four goals in mind.

  • Improve the spectator experience, from purchase all the way to entering the arena.

  • Collect and use its data, which until then had been scattered across several tools.

  • Grow its ticketing revenue, going beyond simply selling seats.

  • Save time on day-to-day management.

After comparing several solutions, the club chose Tickie. Its existing customer databases were imported into the platform, so it could kick off the season without starting from scratch.

To meet each of these goals, Tickie gave the club concrete tools, grouped into five levers.

Lever 1: a checkout flow that converts

The fan experience starts on the sales page, with Tickie's simple, mobile-first checkout flow. As a result, more than 8 out of 10 visitors complete their order.

Fans have embraced online buying so fully that on-site sales have become marginal, which also frees up the team on match nights.

And for the big games, like PSG's visit, the ticketing keeps pace: the club can open extra stands and offer VIP seats with just a few settings.

Lever 2: data that drives decisions

Thanks to its sales data, the club now knows exactly how its audience behaves. For example, it knows its fans mostly buy on Fridays between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

That's valuable insight, and it backs up the decision to play mostly on Friday nights.

Tickie's built-in CRM also lets the club create dynamic segments, such as season ticket holders, loyal customers or fans who haven't attended in several months. The club can then send them targeted offers and messages by email or text.

Lever 3: businesses as a growth driver

To grow its revenue, the club relies on a major asset: its network of corporate partners. Tickie makes it easier to tap into with a Secret Shop dedicated to CSEs (French works councils).

This hidden ticket shop, accessible through a unique link, offers prices reserved for employees of partner companies. The club can share it widely while keeping full control over its offers.

Every sale made through this channel is tracked, so its impact can be measured precisely.

Lever 4: more accessible season tickets

To grow its season ticket base, the club is betting on flexibility.

  • Season ticket renewal for the same seat, to reward loyalty.

  • Physical season ticket cards, printed by Tickie, for fans who are attached to them.

  • Interest-free payment in three installments, approved for next season's season tickets.

Lever 5: new revenue with no extra effort

Tickie has also opened up new revenue streams. The flexible ticket, trialed this season, lets fans get a refund under rules set by the club, for a small extra fee.

It's a reassuring option for fans that generates additional revenue and saves the team time, since refunds are fully automated.

The club can also offer upsells, such as food and drinks from the concession stand, right in the checkout flow.

What the club thinks

For the USCHB team, Tickie is simpler and more intuitive than its previous solution, with easier access to data.

Support started even before the first sale, with the ticketing platform set up ahead of the season ticket launch. It continues throughout the season through regular check-ins. And when the ticketing team changes, Tickie trains the newcomers to ensure continuity, with no loss of know-how.
